Background
As part of the agenda for the EUROSAI 63rd Governing Board that met in London in October 2024, a decision was reached to establish a Peer Review Project Group, led by SAI Israel, within the framework of SG2.
"Peer review" refers to an external and independent evaluation of one or more aspects of the organization and/or operation of a Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) by a team of professional peers from one or more SAIs, in order to foster the continuous improvement of audit and oversight capacities among EUROSAI members. While SAIs may also consider including experts from non-SAI institutions, the aim is to strengthen the quality and credibility of SAIs within EUROSAI through external, independent assessments.
Prior to establishing the Project Group, a survey was distributed among EUROSAI members to map their needs, expectations and requirements. Approximately 82% of EUROSAI members responded to the survey.
