EUROSAI Working Group on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes (WGAFADAC)
Background and objectives
The EUROSAI Working Group on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes was established at the IX EUROSAI Congress in June 2014. However, its origin can be found in the former EUROSAI WGEA Special Subgroup on the Audit of Natural, Man-caused Disasters Consequences and Radioactive Wastes Elimination, that had acted since November 2006, which had been transformed into a Task Force on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes, in June, 2008 during the VII EUROSAI Congress. Later on, during the IX EUROSAI Congress held in June 2014, this Task Force was transformed into a Working Group.
The EUROSAI WG´s mission is to coordinate and consolidate efforts of the European SAIs to help their governments in development of effective and efficient tools for prevention and consequences elimination of disasters and catastrophes.
