EUROSAI Quality Management Project Group - Summary Booklet

The European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) has introduced a new strategy aimed at enhancing audits related to environmental initiatives and the green transition. Backed by several European bodies, this initiative seeks to boost transparency and accountability in EU-funded environmental projects.

EUROSAI’s Green Strategy for a Sustainable Future

EUROSAI has taken a step forward in its commitment to sustainability by launching a strategy focused on auditing programs and funds dedicated to the green transition. Known as the "EUROSAI Green Strategy," this initiative aims to ensure that public resources are used efficiently and that funded projects contribute effectively to climate change mitigation and sustainable development.

The strategy will include audits on topics such as waste management, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and carbon footprint reduction. "Our goal is to ensure that funds reach where they are truly needed and that the projects achieve tangible results in terms of sustainability," explained Maria Klever, President of EUROSAI. The organization will also work closely with audit institutions across Europe to establish common standards in environmental program audits.
